Literature research and discussion with colleagues in our field has led to the development of a Reintegration Intake questionnaire. This provides a quickscan of the factors crucial to reintegration. This is why we want to research this issue. Would you like to join us?
Important factors related to reintegration
This may sound obvious, but an important factor in the reintegration approach is careful alignment with the situation, possibilities and personal circumstances of the candidate. We have already seen that the degree of success in this respect can be forecast to a considerable degree by the Mobility Indicator and the Personal Effectiveness questionnaire. These provide insight into the intrinsic motivation of jobseekers and their capacity to handle change. The way these candidates are helped through this process can then be refined.
In order to complete this process we need to map a set of other factors. We have developed the Reintegration Intake questionnaire to be able to do so. This questionnaire measures the following focal areas:
- Language proficiency: self-assessment European language level
Candidates indicate their level of proficiency in Dutch, not through a test – that can always be done later – but through self assessment. This can range from Level A1 through to C2. The advisor can then decide if additional research is necessary, but generally speaking a candidate’s self analysis is pretty accurate.
- Spotting of psychic complaints
This aspect scans a range of complaints from physical (somatic) through to tension, despondency or anxiety. Addiction issues are also in scope.
- Social integration
The degree of participation and involvement in society is crucial to the attainment of support and network. This would appear to be an important factor. It can also forecast the approach to and success of a reintegration process.
- Social problems
These provide an indication of the most important social problems relevant to reintegration, such as: debts, accommodation, relationship / separation, family, commute, childcare, working hours, justice / probation.
- Job interview skills
This factor is primarily of importance along the critical path to reintegration and to assess the desire of the individual to learn.
- Attitude to work
We map an individual’s attitude to work including the underlying skills and attributes such as Work-life balance, Structure, Energy, Cooperation, Receptiveness to being managed, and Work ethic.

We would like to run these questionnaires past 200 – 400 candidates and then track and trace them in the subsequent two years. Should you care to be part of this process, we will provide a research account in which you can complete these and other related questionnaires. Feel free to use the results in your work.
Subsequently, we will evaluate the reintegration effort and results after six months. Both advisor and candidate receive an online questionnaire regarding the approach to and success of reintegration.
Bureaus / advisors with between 10 and 50 candidates are welcome to parrticipate between April and August.
