Counting Blocks measures the abstract analytical ability and spatial skills. The test can be used in selection procedures in particular for positions for which spatial ability is required. Such as technical positions, assembly, mechanics, technical maintenance etc.
Each task consists of a diagram made up of a number of blocks. For each task, the number of blocks (including the hidden blocks) need to be counted and entered into the framework. With this a gamble chance is very small.
This test requires a form of precise reasoning on figurative material in perspective. It is a fairly practical test, making it good to deploy at lower levels, such as for ‘A’ Levels and College Education. This test is less distinctive for higher levels of Education.
